I Love Me Some MODX

I’ve been “playing” on the web for quite a while now. And really, I don’t have a whole lot to show for it. Well, at least when looking for things I’ve built for myself. And as I would really enjoy making a regular job out of this, I figured it would be great to actually get MY site going and have a place to point back to for work I’ve actually accomplished.

For this site I have decided to use MODx as my CMS. If you haven’t heard about it, I highly recommend checking it out. The learning curve is a bit steeper than some of the more user friendly CMS’s you may find, but when it comes to being able to customize anything and everything, I’d put MODx up against the best of of them. Currently MODx Revolution is geared a bit more towards developers as it is still in its RC phase. But once more people start developing for it, I definitely see it gaining lots of ground in usability.

Hopefully soon I’ll be able to release a few components for it that I have been tinkering around with. I don’t have anything to show just yet, but I’m hoping to release an event calendar and (don’t laugh) a DKP system for World of Warcraft guilds. These two, don’t really have a lot in common. The event calendar is actually part of a clients website I’m redoing, and the DKP system is for my guild to use after the next expansion comes out.

If you have any questions or comments about either of these feel free to leave some feedback here. I’m still working on hard on getting all the sections of this site finished up, but I’ll try to have an actual contact form up here in the next few days as well.
